Detection of Reactive Metabolites: GSH Adduct detection using High Resolution Isotope Pattern Filtering:

GSH IPF is a new algorithm added to the IPeaks module. IPF will detect GSH adducts (or KCN, MOA) based on low or high resolution isotope doublet pairs in samples containing labeled and natural GSH. The algorithm has been tested on a number of samples and compared to other processing techniques (EIC, PIF, MDF, NLF). In most of the cases, IPF detects twice as much adducts.

IPF can be run in two directions: MS and EIC, both having specific advantages. IPF comes with a powerful post-processing routine to check and remove false positives. Both algorithms run in less than a minute.

IPF results: shown is one of the detected adducts. It has a positive score on Neutral Loss 129. However, the control check turns out that this adduct is a false positive.

Enhancement of Peptide Coverage:
What has been missed?

It is well known that in data dependent MS, the MS/MS is focused on the more abundant peptides and therefore will miss many small interesting peaks!

MPeaks contains a new algorithm to
perform a fast comparative analysis between two samples. It will automatically determine for which of these peaks no MSMS spectrum was acquired.
